Starring legendary superstar Ashok Saraf in main role, newly released Marathi movie ‘Shentimental’ collected average income on Indian box office. Directed by Sameer Patil, the political satire film grossed Rs 0.30 crore box office collection on opening day.
Opening to 10% occupancy, the Marathi film received moderate response from the audiences. The movie released on 250 screens in Maharashtra on 28th July and witnessed decent occupancy in cinema halls.
Featuring Suyog Gorh and Pallavi Patil in leading roles, the Marathi movie received mixed reviews from the critics. Due to box office clash with newly released Hindi films ‘Indu Sarkar’ and ‘Mubarakan’, the film failed to earn big income on 1st day.
On other hand, the latest Bollywood movies received huge response from audiences on the opening day. Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘Mubarakan’ collected Rs 22.46 crore total collection in 4 days while Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Indu Sarkar’ grossed Rs 3.39 crore box office collection in opening weekend.
Ashok Saraf’s comeback on big screen was expected to drive huge attention of audiences. The veteran actor, who has acted in many Marathi and Hindi movies, played a role of a policeman in his latest Marathi film.
‘Shentimental’ is expected to witness decline in the theatre occupancy in the week days. The movie will face box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Hindi film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, which is slated to hit screens on 4th August.
